BLESSED SACRAMENT OUTREACH MINISTRIES

Ministry to the Sick, Elderly & Homebound

Ministry to the Sick, Elderly and Homebound wishes to show love and care for our parish members who for reasons of health or infirmity cannot be with us as we gather for worship.

Our Ministers to the Sick, Elderly, and Homebound bring the Eucharist, as well as news of parish events, and a listening ear to homebound parishioners.

We aim for all parishioners who are homebound, permanently or temporarily, to be visited by an Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion on a regular basis.

Each member of our parish is invited to participate in this ministry by praying for our absent brothers and sisters.

“Father, your Son accepted our sufferings to teach us the virtue of patience in human illness. Hear the prayers we offer for our sick brothers and sisters. May all who suffer pain, illness, or disease realize that they have been chosen to be saints and know that they are joined to Christ in his suffering for the salvation of the world. We ask this through Christ our Lord, Amen”

Hope Appeal Ministry

The HOPE Appeal is the annual giving campaign of the Diocese of Syracuse.  Every year the programs and services supported by the HOPE Appeal touch countless lives in every city, town, and rural area in our diocese. When the goal of the HOPE Appeal is achieved, we ensure that these programs will receive the funding that is needed. The HOPE Appeal serves nearly 230,000 Catholics and non-Catholics in 121 parishes across seven counties in Central New York.

Blessed Sacrament Church joins other parishes of the diocese to realize the goals of Hope Appeal raising awareness among her parishioners to generously contribute into this campaign.

As of this week of 1/11/21, the status of the Hope Appeal 2020 pledges and gifts is as follows: Blessed Sacrament has raised $43,174.00 towards her goal of $53, 295.74 (running short of about $10,000.00) and St. Vincent De Paul has raised $15,415.00 towards the goal of $17,091.65 (running short of about $1,850.00). Thank You to all who have already pledged or contributed.
