All are invited to All Saints Parish Annual Fr. Mychal Judge Lecture and Award.
This annual event honors Father Mychal, Chaplin to the New York City Fire Department and the first 1st-responde killed in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the Twin Towers.
This year’s lecture will be by Mary Jo McConahay, author of “Playing God: American Catholic
Bishops and the Far Right,” a book that explores the complex relationship between
American Catholic bishops and far-right politics. This timely discussion promises to engage and inform on critical issues facing the Catholic Church and society today.
The evening will culminate with presentation of the Fr. Mychal Judge Award to the now retired Syracuse Gay and Lesbian Catholic Group in recognition of their prophetic, grassroots ministry through the 1990s.
